When you create an account: your first and last name, email address, position (e.g. Resident PGY-2, Attending), a username, and an avatar (either a picked icon or a photo you upload). As you use the app: your daily quiz answers, whether each was correct, timed out, or skipped, the points you earned, and when you answered.
To run the daily trivia challenge itself — showing you the right question, computing your score, tracking your streak, and ranking you on the leaderboard against classmates in your position.
Your username, position, and score are visible to other signed-in users on the leaderboard. Your real first/last name, email, and individual answer history are not shown to other users. Moderators can see full account and answer details for every user, including identity, in order to verify leaderboard standings and confirm the true leader. Moderators never have access to your password — like anyone else, they cannot see or change it. The only account-level actions available to moderators are deleting an account or sending a password reset request.
In Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication) — the same infrastructure used to run the rest of the app. We don't sell or share your data with third parties beyond what's needed to operate Firebase itself.
Deleting your account (Profile → Personal info → Delete account) removes your personal details and permanently disables sign-in for that account. Your quiz results are kept afterward to support app improvement, development, and future updates. Once your account is deleted, that information is retained only under an anonymous user record — it is no longer tied to your identity, and this has no bearing on your standing or performance.
You can view and edit your personal details, or delete your account entirely, at any time from Profile → Personal info (re-entering your password is required for either, since we never store your password itself — only Firebase Authentication does, and only in verifiable/hashed form).

TICI is developed and operated independently by its maintainer. It is not created, owned, endorsed, sponsored, or operated by any hospital, health system, residency program, or medical institution, and no such institution has any access to, control over, or responsibility for this app or the data described in this policy. TICI does not connect to, integrate with, or draw from any hospital's electronic health record or other institutional system, and it collects no patient information of any kind — only the account and quiz-activity information described above, belonging to the individual user who created it.
